Arts of Japan
Welcome to the research guide for Art & Art History 260!
Please use this guide as a starting point for doing research in this class. If you run into any questions or are struggling to find what you need, remember librarians are here to help. You can stop by the reference desk in Rolvaag, use the IM box to the left (especially for basic questions), drop by my office or send me an e-mail.
It is suggested that you consult resources in the following order:
Reference Sources - this is where the most general information is located and is a good place to get background on a particular topic. Be sure to check the bibliography or suggestions for further reading at the end of the articles you read -- they often lead you to other places where your topic is being discussed.
Books - more specific than reference
material and usually focusing on one topic.
Articles - focus on a particular aspect of a
topic. This is also where the newest information on a topic can be
found.
Rolvaag Reference desk hours are as follows:
Monday - Thursday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
7 p.m. - 10 p.m.Friday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.Saturday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.Sunday 1:30 p.m. - 5 p.m.
