Composers' complete works and monuments of music

Use these tools to help navigate composer's complete works (M3) as well as historical sets and "monuments of music" (M1-2), which contain a variety of composers.

  • New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians. 29 vols.

    Use the list of composer's works at the end of articles to locate editions of complete works as well as locations (volume and page numbers) within those sets.

  • Heyer, Anna Harriet, Historical Sets, Collected Editions, and Monuments of Music: A Guide to their Contents. 
    REF ML113.H4 1980
    Dated, but still invaluable for locating information in sets, especially M1-2. Use the index volume to guide you to volume 1, which acts as a table of contents for sets.
