EndNote Guide: Welcome to EndNote

What is EndNote?

EndNote is a tool to help you organize your pdf's, references and Works Cited pages.

EndNote's bibliographic software also has many advanced features:

  • search online databases and import reference citations
  • store all your references in one place, along with your own notes and pdf files
  • automatically format citations and bibliographies in many styles (APA, MLA, Turabian, Chicago)
  • share your references or EndNote libraries with colleagues
  • synch your desktop/laptop, web and iPad EndNote Libraries seamlessly
  • (and with X17 on a Mac, dictate your citations and notes into EN!)

Start with the "EndNote Online" tab to establish your EN account.  Then you can decide whether you want to use the web, an iPad or your desktop/laptop as your EN home.

Getting used to EndNote takes a little practice.  But once you've mastered the software, it's a major time saver when it comes to citing sources in your papers!
