This guide is designed to help researchers find family members, farms and communities in historic Norway. It focuses primarily on resources available at St. Olaf College. While there may be some resources in English, most materials will be written in Norwegian. The guide was compiled to be of assistance to genealogists visiting St. Olaf; please do not consider it to the the "end all-be all" of Norwegian American genealogical research. Norwegian American Genealogical Centers

- Vesterheim: The National Norwegian-American Museum and Heritage CenterVesterheim is the national Norwegian-American museum and heritage center, with over 33,000 artifacts, 12 historic buildings, a Folk Art School, and a library and archives.
Norwegian American Historical Association
- Norwegian American Historical Association (NAHA)NAHA was organized October 6, 1925, as a national center for the collection and preservation of historical material. Now in its 92nd year, the Association has published more than 100 books of scholarly merit and its archive is home to more than 1,700 collections. NAHA is located on the campus of St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.
