- Ancestry.com Library Edition This link opens in a new windowGenealogical records, census data, photos, and historical maps. International coverage with particular strength in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Also includes Jewish family history and military records. Dates of coverage vary by collection.
A subscription to Ancestry.com is a wonderful thing but quite pricey. You can do almost everything through the St. Olaf library's subscription, including downloading documents. It's a great place to get started and see if the bug bites. If so, then you can go all out with your own subscription, upload your family tree, etc. Please note that you must use the link through the library databases page or from this libguide to access through our subscription.
If you are off campus, you will be asked for your St. Olaf username and password when you click on this link. If you don't have a St. Olaf username, you can use the database in person at the St. Olaf Libraries. Just ask for a guest logon at the main desk when you arrive. You can also use the Ancestry.com database through the Northfield Public Library and many other public libraries in the country.
