Logging into ArcGIS Online

Add this bookmark! https://stolaf.maps.arcgis.com/

You should receive an email invitation from ArcGIS Online - click on the link in the invitation in order to activate your account.

Tips for working with ArcGIS StoryMaps & ArcGIS Online:

  • When accessing ArcGIS Online, make sure that the website says "stolaf" somewhere in the URL (https://stolaf.maps.arcgis.com) before starting a project. There should be a St. Olaf banner after logging in.
  • StoryMaps will autosave throughout the project, but try to avoid having the project open in multiple tabs. It could create a version conflict.
  • Safari will occasionally return error messages when logging in or accessing previously created projects - just switch to Chrome and this will fix it!

Finished with your project? Submit the Story Map!

To submit your project, make sure to save it to the "History 188, Fall 2025"

Mark your project as either "Organization" or "Public" - if you want to make your project public, but not have it show in search engines, check out the video for Marking StoryMaps as Unlisted
