Accessing ArcGIS Online
You will receive an invite to activate your account before the training session in class! If you want access the site earlier, submit a ticket to the IT Helpdesk.
It is recommended to use Chrome when accessing ArcGIS Online. For Mac users, Safari will occasionally cause errors with the log-in process. ArcGIS Online is also compatible with iOS.
- St. Olaf ArcGIS Online (stolaf.maps.arcgis.com)To start your project, make sure to log into the ArcGIS Online organization for St. Olaf College. When using the site, the St. Olaf banner should appear on the page.
Create Your StoryMap
For the project, we will most need to upload media of various types! You do not need to use maps for this project.

For assistance on Story Maps:
- Sara Lynnore is available during staffed hours! Monday - Friday from 8am to 5pm. Send an email to sara@stolaf.edu to book an appointment. Virtual and in-person meeting options are available.
- Fill out an IT Helpdesk Ticket! Software Issues
- IT Helpdesk is the best alternative if there are problems with ArcGIS Online after staffed hours or on weekends
- Stop by the DiSCO! The workers can also assistant with some story maps issues
- DiSCO staffed hours: Monday - Thursday 9am - 9pm, Friday 9am - 5pm, Saturday & Sunday 12pm - 9pm
