Using the Rolvaag Library Special Collections

Hours and Access

Access to the Rolvaag Library Special Collections is dependent on staff availability, Monday - Thursday 9am to 4pm. Researchers need to make an appointment at least 72 hours in advance by completing this form online. To prepare for your appointment, see our guidelines for visitors.

Class Visits Welcome!

We kindly ask that you request classes a minimum of two weeks in advance. We can generally accommodate a maximum of twenty students, but will do all in our power to meet your needs. To request a class, please email classvisitssp@stolaf.edu.

Our Collections

The Rolvaag Library Special Collections Department provides access to printed materials from the 15th century to the present. Our primary collections include:

     •  Artists’ books and fine press books 
     •  Bodman-Lang East Asian Collection
     •  Nordic-American Imprints Collection
     •  Pre-1801 Collection

We also have a number of virtual exhibits curated from St. Olaf’s Rolvaag Memorial Library Special Collections and College Archives.
