Handy Search Terms
The most efficient way to use Catalyst to find fairy tales or research about fairy tales is to use an Advanced Search. These terms will work in most research databases, as well.
- Set the dropdown to "Subject."
- Choose one of these subject terms: fairy tales, folktales, folklore.
- Bonus: add a country, culture, or ethnic group.
- Set the language filter to English, unless you can read other languages. Many of our fairy tale collections are in the original languages.
This search looks items with the subject "fairy tales" and "Russia." The asterisk (*) will also pull in the term "Russian." Click the image to see the search results!
