Annotating Text or Images

You MUST be at stolaf.maps.arcgis.com (not https://storymaps.arcgis.com/) in order to do this process

If you want to create an interactive image or annotate text in StoryMaps, the short tutorial video below shows the steps on how to do this! After creating the interactive text/image, the recommendation for annotating it:

  • In the StoryMap, select the option for Map Tour
  • Select Start from scratch > pick either the List or Map focused format
    • You can pick any of the formats, but the List, Grid, and Media focused options require an image in the slide, otherwise the marker will show up, but it will have a gray box on default
    • Map focused doesn't require images (no default gray box)
  • After adding the Map Tour, click on the edit pencil > Select basemap > Browse more maps > add the interactive image you created
