Liner Notes
Most audio recordings, whether physical (LPs, CDs, etc.) or digital will include liner notes with texts and translations.
To ask Catalyst to give you recordings instead of scores, use one of the three audio filters.
1. In advanced search, tick the Audio/Video radial button. This will search for both physical formats and streaming audio.
2. In advanced search, set the Material Type dropdown menu to "sound recordings."
3. If you've already run a search and are in the results list, use the Material Type filters on the left side to limit to sound recordings. Options may include online audio, audio CDs, or audio LPs.
Our online streaming services often provide liner notes to the recordings. These notes often include texts and translations.
If the recording is in Music Online, look for a "liner notes" button under the album image and playback controls.
If the recording is in Naxos Music Library, look for a "Booklet" button under the album image. If there's no Booklet button, the notes are not available in Naxos.
