Slide 4: Our goals for today are…

  • Learn about different source types relevant to your project
    • Background Info sources (Encyclopedias, Europa World Plus)
    • TAP Network Member websites
    • News Sources (open web, Access World News, BBC Monitoring Library)
    • Books (Catalyst)
  • Review strategies for evaluating sources
  • Strategize how to find relevant sources for your project on the open web and through St. Olaf Library resources
  • Time to research a TAP Network Member of your choice

Slide 5: Time to practice!

Use this time to practice researching the TAP Network Member you’ll be investigating for your project by using some of the resources/approaches we talked about today:

  • See if your TAP Network member has a website and/or active social media accounts.
    • Consider bookmarking these sites to come back to later.
  • Use Access World News or BBC Monitoring Library to find news articles about your TAP Network Member
    • Generate a citation and save a permalink
  • See if there are any sources in Catalyst regarding the TAP Network Member
  • Evaluate what kinds of sources you’re getting and how you’re getting them.

And ask Ann & Sara questions!
