- MERLOT"A free and open peer reviewed collection of online teaching and learning materials and faculty-developed services contributed and used by an international education community."
- OASISA large user friendly OER search engine that allows for users to search by subject or by course material type (e.g. textbooks, simulations, audio).
- OER CommonsContains more than 50,000 examples of learning and teaching materials. The advanced search option allows you to limit to common-core standards, grade level, and primary user (teacher or student).
- Open Courseware ConsortiumThis site serves as a repository for over 70 providers of OERs. Most of the materials target college-level students. Content is arranged by courses and by providers.

Several universities have made available the educational course materials developed by their faculty.
The educational materials for each course may include syllabi, lectures, notes, powerpoint presentations, readings, assignments, and video or audio lectures, depending on the course, the semester, and the professor.

- Open Course Library - Washington State Community & Technical CollegesCollection of shareable course materials, including syllabi, course activities, readings, and assessments designed by teams of college faculty, instructional designers, librarians, and other experts.
- Open Michigan - University of MichiganTeaching and learning materials produced by U-M faculty, students, and staff that are licensed under a Creative Commons license that allow for redistribution, copying, and adaptation. Openly licensed teaching and learning objects from partner institutions may also be hosted on open.umich.edu.
