Library Databases
Use these databases to look up information regarding Immigration, Affirmative Action, Police Reform, and Economic Inequality. CQ Researcher and PolicyFile will be particularly helpful.
When using CQ Researcher, be sure to click on the CQ Researcher link on the right hand side of the page after clicking on the CQ Researcher link below. Otherwise, you'll be searching through CQ Press, which is a much bigger resource that we don't have full access to.
- Immigration group: search "immigration" in CQ Researcher to get to the most recent reports on the topic.
- Affirmative Action group: search "affirmative action" in CQ Researcher to get to the most relevant reports on the topic. Make sure to look at the "Legacy Admissions" report as well.
- Police Reform group: search "police under scrutiny" and "criminal justice reform backlash" in CQ Researcher to get to the most recent reports on the topic.
- Economic Inequality group: search "economic inequality" in CQ Researcher to get to the most recent reports on the topic. Look at "American Capitalism" and the "US Minimum Wage" reports.
- Academic Search Premier This link opens in a new windowArticles on virtually every topic, drawn from scholarly journals, professional journals, trade magazines, news publications, and lifestyle magazines. Provides full-text access to over half of its 8000+ publications. Covers materials published 1975-present.
- CQ Researcher This link opens in a new windowFull-text reports on current issues including health issues, social trends, criminal justice, international affairs, education, the environment, technology, and the economy. Includes background information, overviews, pros and cons, and sources for further research. Covers materials published 1991-present.
- PolicyFile This link opens in a new windowPolicyFile indexes, abstracts, and links directly to current research on virtually every public policy issue, with international coverage from many organizations around the world, as well as in-depth coverage of U.S. domestic policy organizations.
- Social Science Premium Collection This link opens in a new windowThe Social Science Premium Collection from ProQuest includes international literature in politics, public policy, sociology, social work, anthropology, criminology, linguistics, library science, and education. This collection contains databases such as the Sociology Database, Applied Social Sciences Index & Abstracts (ASSIA), Sociological Abstracts, Political Science Database, PAIS Index, PolicyFile, Worldwide Political Science Abstracts, Criminal Justice Database, Library Science Database, LISA, Education Database, ERIC and Linguistics Database.

I highly recommend using Pew Research Center to supplement your research with public opinion data. Click on the "Research Topics" header, and then "Full Topic List" to browse through the various categories available in Pew Research Center.
Of possible interest, some of these broad topics include Immigration & Migration, Politics & Policy, and Economy & Work, all of which include many more specific subtopics.
