3D Printing
3D print resources are available in the DiSCO on a first come first serve basis! To submit a request for 3D printing, send in a DiSCO Resource Request. Some guidelines for 3D printing:
- STL files are preferred for 3D printing, but there are other formats that we can make work if needed
- It is okay to request a specific color, but sometimes due to demand we may be unable to fill requests for specific colors
- We will not accept any projects to print weapons (guns, knives, swords, throwing stars, ninja kunai, etc) or projects that violate any college policies.
Due to the amount of time it may take some projects to print, and then high demand of requests, it is recommend to give a 2 week buffer time between the request and when the print is needed for the project. Some prints rmay require multiple days to complete.
- Make Anything YouTube Channel - Painting 3D Prints with Cheap Acrylic PaintPrint a 3D model and the process of painting 3D objects.

- Thingiverse - Digital Designs for Physical ObjectsThis is an online resource that provides 3D printer files that can be downloaded.

Books and Library Materials
Cosplay and the Art of Play by Garry Crawford; David Hancock This book is an introduction to cosplay as a subculture and community, built around playful spaces and the everyday practices of crafting costumes, identities, and performances. Drawing on new and original ethnographic data, as well as the innovative use of arts-led research, this book adds to our understanding of a popular, global cultural practice. In turn, this pushes forward our understanding of play, fan practices, subcultures, practice-led research, and uses of urban spaces. Cosplay and the Art of Play offers a significant addition to key contemporary debates on the meaning and uses of popular culture in the 21st century, and will be of importance to students and scholars interested in communities, fandom, identity, leisure, participatory cultures, performance, and play.

Our first edition rocked the anime world with its in-depth entries on anime famous and obscure and its superb index/film finder. Now this fantastic book is 40 percent larger-with all-new entries on hundreds of anime released after 2001, updates on older entries, and over fifty thousand words on anime creators (like Tezuka and Otomo) and genres ("Early Anime," "Science Fiction and Robots," etc.).
