RODE NT-USB Desktop Microphone

Features

  • Clear, high-quality sound; ideal for voice-based projects like podcasts
  • USB-powered so no need for an external audio interface
  • Directly monitor your audio without any delay with headphone output and volume control
  • Included pop filter that reduces plosive sounds like "p" and "t"

Connecting to Devices

  • Computer
    • Plug one end of the included cable into the port at the base of the microphone, and the other end into your computer
    • If your computer only has USB-C ports you will need a USB-C to USB-A adapter
    • When connected, the status LED will turn blue, indicating that the microphone is switched on
    • Your computer should automatically recognize the microphone but if not, then go to your computer's audio settings and select 'NT-USB+' for both audio input and output
  • Phone or Tablet
    • If your device has a USB-C port or Lightning port, you will need the corresponding adapter from USB-A to USB-C or Lightning port

Using the Headphone Output

  • This microphone features a 3.5mm headphone output
  • There are two different controls for the headphone output: a level control and a monitor mix control
    • The level control is the bottom knob which adjusts the volume level of any audio being played
    • The monitor mix control is the top knob and adjusts how much of your direct microphone signal is sent to your headphones
    • If it's fully turned towards the microphone icon on the left then you won't hear any direct microphone audio but will still hear audio coming from your device
  • When recording or streaming, it is recommended to have the knob turned all the way to the desktop icon on the right and disabling any software monitoring your digital audio workstation
