Set Up
- If you are using an HDMI cable, connect one end into the back of your PS3 and the other end into the HDMI port of your TV
- Plug the power cord into the back of your Dualshock 3 controller and plug the other end into the USB slot in the front of the PS3
- Press the power button near the disc drive
Create a user
- When setting up the PS3, it will prompt you to create a user profile. This profile will help you access settings and can be linked to a free online PlayStation account.
- You can also create multiple user profiles.
XrossMediaBar Menu
- Using the XMB menu
- The PS3 system includes a user interface called XMB. The horizontal row shows system features in categories, and the vertical column shows items that can be performed under each category.
- Playing content
- From the XMB menu, select the content of the disc or storage media, and then press the ‘X’ button. To stop playback, press the ‘O’ button.
- Information panel
- Using the information panel that is displayed on the upper right screen, you can view information such as the number of friends who are online, notice about new messages and the latest information that is available under [What’s New].
