Turning On/Off
To turn on, set the power switch CAMERA or MEDIA.

CAMERA — Film footage.
-
MEDIA — Access your recordings.
Return to OFF to turn camcorder off.
Attaching/Removing Battery
To attach
-
Press the battery pack softly into the battery attachment unit and slide until you hear a click.
To remove
-
Slide the BATTERY RELEASE switch in the direction of the arrow and hold it pressed down.

Slide the battery pack and then pull it out.
Battery Charging
-
Connect the power cord to the compact power adapter.
-
Plug the power cord into a power outlet.
-
Connect the power compact power adapter to camcorder’s DC in terminal.
-
Attach the battery pack to the camcorder.
-
Charging will start when the camcorder is turned off.
-
Disconnect the power adapter starting with the DC in terminal, then the power outlet.
Camera Modes
Set the camera mode using the switch located on the right of the topside of the camera.

Auto Mode — The camcorder takes care of all the settings while you concentrate on recording. This mode is suitable if you just prefer not to bother with detailed camcorder settings.

Manual Mode — You can enjoy full access to menus, settings and advanced functions.

CINEMA Mode — This mode gives your recording a cinematic look and use cinema-like filters to create unique movies.
Navigating the Camera
Touch Screen
-
Touch — Press on an element on the touch screen. Used to play back a scene, select an item in the menu, etc.

Drag — Swipe your finger up or down of the screen to scroll menus, change index page, or adjust sliders (such as volume).
FUNC. Button and Joystick

FUNC. Button — Press the button to open the menu and press it again to close it.

Joystick — Push the joystick to move the selection frame and press it to confirm selection.
Memory Cards
Inserting and Removing a memory card

Turn off the camcorder; make sure the POWER indicator is off.

Open the double memory card slot cover.
-
Insert the memory card straight, with the label facing the front of the camcorder, all the way into one of the memory card slots.

Close the double memory card slot cover.
-
To remove, push memory card once to release it. After it springs out, pull it all the way out.
Initializing a memory card

Power the camcorder using compact power adapter.
-
Open the initialization screen for the desired memory card.
-
Touch [Yes].
-
Touch [OK] and then touch [X].
Selecting a memory card for recordings

Open the [Recording menu].
-
Select the desired memory card.
-
Press [X].
