Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the switch's LAN port and the other end to an available Ethernet port on your router or modem.
Power on the switch
Connect the power adapter to the switch and plug it into an electrical outlet.
Access the switch management interface
Open a web browser on a computer connected to the same network as the switch and enter the default IP address for the switch. The default IP address is usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1.
Log in to the switch
Enter the default login credentials, which are usually username: admin and password: password.
Configure the switch
Use the switch configuration utility to configure the switch.
Register the switch
Go to my.netgear.com and register the switch using the 13-digit serial number printed on the switch label.
The LEDs on the switch indicate the status. For example, a solid green light means the switch is powered on and operating normally, while a blinking green light means the port is transmitting or receiving packets
