Features
- Compact and lightweight (11 inches long), perfect for camera mounting and boom poles
- Switchable low-frequency roll-off reduces rumble, handling noises, and wind
- Operates on phantom power or a AA battery for portable use
- Battery is included
- Highly directional pickup pattern focuses on sound in front of the mic and minimizes side and rear noise
- Ideal for film and video production
- Does not include an XLR cable
Set-Up
- Connecting to Devices
- Camera or Field Recorder
- Plug one end of an XLR cable into the port at the base of the microphone
- Connect the other end to your camera or recorder's XLR mic input
- If your device provides phantom power, enable it (11-52V DC)
- If not, the use the battery inside the mic body
- Switch the mic ON using the power selector near the XLR connector
- Audio Interface or Mixer
- Connect the microphone via XLR cable to your device
- Turn on phantom power (48V) if you are not using the battery
- Adjust the gain/trim until your audio sounds clear
- Camera or Field Recorder
- Positioning and Usage
- Aim the front tip of the microphone directly towards the sound source for the best pickup
- Keep the mic 6-24 inches away for close dialogue, or 2-3 feet for boom use
- Mount on a boom pole or camera to minimize handling noise
- Use the included windscreen to reduce wind noise
